As we are working toward becoming a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, we are looking for funding in any way we can. High costs of instruments and uniforms often keep potential members from joining. One traje (the traditional Mariachi suit) costs approximately $500. Finding traditional Mariach instruments like the guitarron and vihuela are difficult and often come with a high price tag. Many of our performances are outside or in large venues and require sound equipment. Currently we borrow sound systems from family members or businesses but do need to acquire our own. Also, as many of our members are kids, their parents have to attend events, and we do provide water, sometimes meals, as we’re traveling between events or holding long rehearsals.
To keep participation high, fundraising members to focus on performing. We have many VERY dedicated and hard working parents that assist with setting up, breaking down, coordinating logistics, etc for our performing group.
Our Tejanitos program, beginners classes, are offered at a low cost, only $15 per month. However, we do need to compensate teachers and teaching mariachi requires a LOT of printed materials. Paper and toner costs add up even though we do everything to keep our overhead as low as possible.
If you or your business would like to contribute, we would love to have you! We offer sponsorships to local businesses in exchange for advertising on our marketing materials. See our sponsorship flier below:
We are also fundraising! We are currently selling chicken, pork, or bean tamales. If you would like to support us AND get some high quality, handmade tamales, order with us today!
