Our community mariachi band, Mariachi Lindo Tejas (MLT), consists of members between the ages of 7 to adult! Our members represent the Ferris, Lancaster, Red Oak, and Waxahachie areas. MLT has performed all over north Texas providing music for Hispanic festivals, quinces, community events, private parties, and we even get to play at the State Fair of Texas!
We are always accepting new members! We are currently looking for more guitar/vihuela, trumpets, and guitarron players. And we ALWAYS need singers!
To participate:
- Contact us for an audition time
- be able to play any mariachi instrument
- be willing to sing
- attend rehearsals
- assist with fundraising
- commit to performances
- maintain high level of professionalism in rehearsal and performance
While most of our members are kids, we hold a high performance standard. Our director, Mrs. Regina, expects members to be able to read music and follow rhythms. Regular attendance to rehearsals is required. Members cannot perform if they have not attended the rehearsal immediately before a performance.
We fundraise to purchase uniforms (trajes), equipment (sound, instruments, stands, etc), and for travel expenses.
